Turning points have always been a big change in society. As a result of turning points in history, societies have changed dramatically. Apollo 11 Moon Landing was one of those turning points that changed society forever.

It was important that America explore a brand new area. The United States and Soviet Union were in a famous Space Race to see who could be the best at space flight. It was interesting for America to see the landing on the Moon because they had never experienced the conditions there, such as the low gravity and other conditions, which were different than the Earth’s.

The Apollo 11 Moon Landing had a major impact on history. It led to new discoveries in science and technology and also led to a slowing of Space Race. Medical researchers were also given the opportunity to test new techniques. The Apollo 11 Moon land led to many important advances in science, technology and medicine. Scientists had never studied or explored the moon before. It was a completely new environment. Many of the theories and rumors about the lunar surface were true when Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and their crew landed. The things made to protect astronauts on the moon were later used for many other purposes. In the early days of space exploration, they developed a “cooling-space suit”. The spacesuits proved to be extremely protective as well as keeping the user cool. They could also be used for a variety of other purposes. Hazmat suits and similar models are still used today by NASCAR racing drivers, firefighters, etc. The “moon boots” were also improved. The boot’s purpose was to provide astronauts with balance and stability, as well as absorb shock. Later on, athletic shoes were made using the same technology. Solar panels were another major advancement in technology. The solar panel was created by using the same technology that was used in the Apollo Lunar Module.

Cold War was raging for many years, long before Apollo 11’s Moon Landing. The Cold War began as a series rivalries and competitions between the United States & the Soviet Union. They were based on opposing ideologies about communism and politics. The “Cold War”, as it was called, was a war that neither the USSR nor the US had declared. Space Race, or the race to become the best space pilot, was one of Cold War’s most famous rivalries. It was also primarily a race for the first human to land on the moon safely and then return. The US decided to do it after President John F. Kennedy said that the nation should “commit itself to achieving the goal of landing a human on the Moon before the decade ends and returning him to Earth safely”. Neil Armstrong’s successful landing on the surface of moon took place on June 20, 1969.
