Poseidon, The Greek God of The Sea and The Earthshaker is also known as The Prince Of Tides. Poseidon is also known under the name Neptune. He is the God Of The Sea, Floods. Neptune is described as a mature male with a thick beard and a large build. He was a matured man with a thick beard and a trident (a three pointed fisherman’s spear). Poseidon had a gentle temperament. His destructive and disruptive nature made him well-known.

Legend has it that he tried to overthrow Zeus by using the assistance of Hera (the wife Zeus). Poseidon was born to Rhea, King of Titans. Rhea was a Titaness. Poseidon had three brothers, two Zeus Gods of Thunder, Hades Gods of the Underworld and Hera Goddess, Goddess of Marriage. Demeter Goddess, Harvest and Grain was also a Demeter goddess. Poseidon married Ampharite, a Goddess of The Sea. This marriage was a martial alliance. Neptune’s first son was named Triton. He was a Fish-tailed God. Poseidon had numerous affairs with giants and cyclops. These are just a handful of his offspring. They include the Giant Antaios as well the cyclops Polyphemos. There were also magical horses like Pegasos. Arion and other human kings. Triton represented Poseidon, sometimes with a rock covered in a sea creature such as an octipi or crayfish. Poseidon was always dressed in a robe. Poseidon often wore a celer crown or a headband. Together they went to battle the Elder Gods Pontos. Poseidon, his brothers, and the sea became his domain after the fall the Titans.

He won a contest with Athena to rule Athens, and he gave the gift of the first horse. Poseidon, furious at the denial of his reward, purged the land and declared it a drought. Poseidonis only a Greek God and has had a huge impact on Greek Culture.
